Thanks to Global Fund support, the Ministry of Health through the National Programme to Fight Malaria, with the technical lead of UNDP was able to distribute around 1,3 million long lasting mosquito net nationwide as part of the national strategic plan to fight malaria.
Over 5,000 Community Health workers and 13,000 volunteeres were envolved in this massive distribution campaign that went from 8 to 15 June 2020.
This year, the distribution was based on a door-to-door strategy with the objective of avoiding any gathering of people in a single distribution center in line with the COVID-19 preventive measure.
To ensure protection of the people envolved in the distribution campaign, UNDP distributed masks and other protective equipment to each of them.
