Civil Society Organizations play a vital role in a democracy by holding their governments to account for the consequences of their policies. The  “CSOs Monitoring of Public Policies in the area of Public Administration” initiative aims to create and support a Civil Society Monitoring Unit for the Bissau-Guinean public administration.  The Unit is tasked with collecting and disseminating data on the functioning of the Public Administration in the country in order to identify and advance proposals for priority public policies. This, in return, is expected to create a space for dialogue and reflection among different political actors in the implementation of the reforms.

The initiative, led by Tiniguena, is implemented in partnership with the Guinean League of Human Rights (LGDH), with UNDP support in the context of the Political Stabilization and Reform through Confidence Building and Inclusive Dialogue project supported by the UN Peacebuilding Fund. This initiative is a continuation of the work, which began in 2018 with the monitoring of the key reforms of the Conakry Agreement in the framework of the “Political Dialogue Support” project, implemented by UNDP and UNIOGBIS, also funded by the UN Peacebuilding Fund.
