During the past six months, young innovators and entrepreneurs from across the five PALOPs (Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Angola, Cabo Verde, and São Tomé e Príncipe) came together to take part in the innovation journey “E-voluir”. The initiative, which focused on building solutions to tackle challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, provided participants with a methodology to develop their ideas and startups.

As a pilot project focused on building and strengthening the Lusophone network of innovators and entrepreneurs, E-voluir had as its implementing partner the Brazilian Business Accelerator, Fábrica de Startups Brasil, and as a strategic partner, Djassi África.

From Guinea-Bissau, two solutions made it to final Demoday: Djemberém, a business incubator; and N’Djar, a digital platform focused on providing information to rural workers/farmers on best practices related to better soil usage (understanding of the agricultural potentials of the country) through qualitative and quantitative data.

UNDP Guinea-Bissau is committed to fostering the Lusophone ecosystem and working within the continent and across countries to contribute to the development of a thriving network of young entrepreneurs and innovators.
