Improving the status of the national human rights protection system

From the 20th to 22nd of October, a seminar was held in Guinea-Bissau with the aim of discussing and improving the status of the National Commission for Human Rights, with a view to creating a national institution for human rights in accordance with the Paris Principles.


The event was attended by 25 participants, including representatives of the Government, Parliament, the Public Ministry, the Court of First Instance and Civil Society.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Justice in collaboration with the National Commission for Human Rights, and with technical and financial support from UNDP Guinea-Bissau under the project to Support the Strengthening of the Human Rights Protection System for the Consolidation of Peace.
